Founded by Master Pokemon Trainer John, this awesome group of Legendary Raid Boss Battlers has come together to achieve common goals, that is, to capture as many Legendary Raid Bosses in this augmented reality game of Pokemon GO.
If you’re one Pokemon GO Trainer in Iligan City and getting tired of being a lone wolf, then you’re very welcome to join this swell team formed for the love of the game.
Iligan City – The “Tempest Cup” storm made landfall and local Pokemon GO Level 40 Trainer SnowFall017 wins the second Player vs player (PVP) Tournament yesterday in Silph Arena’s themed cup for March 2019 that featured Electric, Ice, Flying and Ground types.
The tournament held at Miguel Sheker Park Welcome Arch that had a turn out of nine competitors saw great performances from Trainers DocZokemn (Level 40), Searhere (Level 32), and YabbFrums, a Level 27 Trainer who recently got back into the game, and managed to pull off quite a surprise by earning a spot among the top 4 players.

February’s Twilight Cup only had eight participants and barely enough to make it happen then but with The Tempest Cup with nine, a single addition surely gave Iligan’s local Pokemon GO Community that boost, for it was, after all, another very successful Silph League sanctioned competition taking place.

Local Pokemon GO players again took part in another exciting and fun-packed event as they battled it out. And they are quite eager to square it off against each other again in next month’s Silph League Tournament, The “Kingdom Cup,” which will feature Steel, Dragon, Fire and Ice types.

Calm after the storm
Iligan City Tempest Cup Participants
Traversing down the Silph Road is real fun for local Pokemon GO trainers here. The Tempest Cup was like a raging tempest when it hit but at the ebb of the storm, it gave us a calm realization that we are not only Iligan City’s Pokemon GO Community, we are a family!
As one Pokémon GO’s latest special event rolled out, the PVP update brought much excitement to gamers, as it brought on new challenges and yes the chance to get some special item rewards.
“Rare” item rewards like rare candies 🙂 and the much sought after “Sinnoh stone” that’s needed to evolve and get the new versions of certain Pokémon’s.
How goes it? Well, PvP can be done remotely if two trainers are already “Ultra Friends.” If not, then one can easily challenge another by scanning thy Q-codes.
Silph Arena Tournaments
To make things more exciting, The Silph Road via Silph.gg established the Silph League, this is a monthly themed cup wherein Communities around the world can compete.
According to Silph.gg, December 2018 was the Beta Test Period. Beginning January 2019 Silph.gg launched the globally coordinated competitive league play in Pokémon GO.
From January through August, the 2019 Competitive Season features 8 themed global Monthly Cups, these are tournaments to be played by local communities at a meetup.
Now Players from local communities now get a chance to battle in host accredited Silph Arena Tournaments in their respective locales and increase their stats.
Winning in local arena tournaments increases a players tier and rank and may get one a chance to earn an invitation to compete in the Regional and World Invitationals.
Trainers who perform well and win locally get a chance to represent their local communities in their respective area’s Regional tournaments.
Winning Regionals may net one so lucky, a coveted slot to participate in the Arena World Championships at GO Fest and Safari Zone this summer, Silph.gg said.
Team Rocket Iligan
So, isn’t that pretty exciting already, Trainers around the world may now get to travel and GO! So what are we waiting for? Let’s GO now, fight, win!
Team Rocket Iligan missed Silph’s Boulder Cup but on February 25, 2019, they were able to host their first accredited local PVP Silph Arena Tournament during The Twilight Cup.
Diligent work and cooperation from local players, and thanks to Trainer searhere, has helped put Iligan City’s local Pokémon GO Community on the Silph worldwide map now.
Iligan City Twilight Cup
Taking down opposing gyms and doing raid battles together is fun. However, participating in the first PVP tournament here for locals was pretty awesome.
On the big day, pre-game nervousness was in the air, little anxiety here and there, that queasy feeling in ones gut, the thrills, the fun and excitement. Oh! It was very amazing!
At the end, one came out victorious and Team Rocket Iligan would like to congratulate our first Silph Arena Tournament and Twilight Cup winner, Trainer searhere!
The Tempest Cup
There were only but a handful of trainers who were able to participate during the Twilight Cup event that featured Fairy, Poison, Dark and Ghost Types.
But with The Tempest Cup up next, featuring Electric, Ice, Flying and Ground Types, and with the word out, we bet, we’ll be seeing more trainers competing by then.
Doing Gym battles and Raid battles is really fun but somehow it pales in comparison to the game’s new and exciting feature. PVP indeed, is real fun!
There’s nothing like the augmented reality mobile game called Pokémon GO developed by Niantic for iOS and Android devices.
It combines augmented reality (AR) with real world settings which enables players have those pocket monsters blend with the natural environment.
Gamers, called “Pokémon Trainers,” are able to integrate Pokemon into various landscapes and scenery using the game’s AR technology that was a first of its kind.
It was a phenomenon which not only brought fun and excitement to gamers alone but sometimes also had that kind of effect on those who didn’t play but heard of the game.
Non-gamers who are sometimes drawn by it when around one who’s playing, at times getting curious and also eager to see these creatures lurking in this dual reality fusion.
“Gotta Catch ‘Em All!”
Generation 4 is live now and Pokemon Trainers who are still playing to date are still out there still trying to live up to the games slogan “Gotta Catch ‘Em All!”
However, there are many other reasons why different trainers around the world play the game, have come back playing, or continue to play the game until now.
Some play for fun, to manage stress, make new friends, become the best trainer, or maybe simply to live one’s dream of becoming a Master Pokémon Trainer via the game.
A Master Pokémon Trainer? Sometimes it makes one wonder, now what does that really mean in this game world of Pokémon GO?
If one has really been playing the game, one is already quite aware that catching ’em all and filling up one’s Pokédex is just half of it all.
“Pokémon Training”
What is Pokémon training? How does one go about it and what is really the true essence and meaning why one needs to train Pokémon in the game?
Before the Gym rework, if a gym’s not Level 10 yet, training meant having your Pokémon battle a same team Gym to increase its prestige to open up a slot and add your defender.
But is that it? Would like to share a little more detail from Pokémon Go GamePress below on how really one goes about it in training Pokémon’s.
There are many types of Pokémon, caught or hatched, a Pokémon has its own innate Individual Values (IVs), have different base set of attributes and of percentage trained.
The percentage trained a Pokémon has is marked by the arc of that semi-circle found above a Pokémon that’s just below the figure that indicates a Pokémon Combat Power.
“Evolving and Powering Up”
Pokémon do have randomized levels (percentage trained) or can be at their different stage of evolution (if a Pokémon has one or two) when caught or hatched.
A Pokémon can change form by evolution and evolving it changes its move sets and increases its strength but the percentage of training will remain the same.
Powering up a Pokémon increases its Combat Power and strength. But in order to do so, it needs a certain number of stardust and candies that depends on the Pokémon’s level.
The game has forty levels, and a Pokémon Trainer increases ones level by gaining the required experience (XP) per level, experience gained thru achievements in the game.
And a Pokémon’s level thru evolution and powering up also depends on the trainers current level. And as a trainer nears the max level, Pokémon’s levels can do too.
In a nutshell, Evolving and Powering Up Pokémon are part of Pokémon training, i.e., training ideal Pokémon for the purpose of Battling in Gyms and/or defending it.
“Master Pokémon Trainer”
The road to becoming a Master Pokémon Trainer for one is not just about knowing all the names of the different kinds of Pokémon available in existing generations so far.
There are many types of Pokémon that have different strengths, weaknesses, Individual Values-Statistics, i.e., Combat Power (CP), Hit Points (HP), Attack, Defense, Stamina, etc.
Each Pokémon then possess different IVs, values that are hidden and may need a tool to determine. These stats come into play when choosing which Pokémon to train.
Stardust and candies gathered in the game are used to transform select Pokémon for a Trainers suitable Team to conquer rival Gyms, do Raid Battles or assign Gyms Defenders.
A Master’s main goal of Pokémon training then is knowing what type and which ones are suitable to be trained well to succeed in defending or winning as many Pokémon Battles.
“Raid Battles”
Another kind of Gym feature are Raid Battles. This happens when a Boss Pokémon takes over a gym, and the opponents here are usually stronger than most other Pokémon.
Unlike Gym Battles where your team of trained Pokémon go against Pokémon defenders of other rival teams, Raid Battles have Pokémon that are much more difficult to defeat.
Raids have five tiers of difficulty, ranging from one to five (T1-T5). The higher the tier, the more difficult it is for one to single-handedly win and get a chance at catching that Boss.
However, some tiers can be taken on alone. Tiers one and two can be soloed as well as Tier three. But T3 sometimes depends on one’s level, otherwise it may take at least two.
There is strength in numbers. With the help of other fellow Trainers there’s always that guarantee of prevailing in Raid Battles and it makes it easier and faster with a big group.
“Let’s Duo It!”
One is Solo and two is a Duo. Now is it possible to Duo Raid higher Tiers four and five and prevail? Indeed, it’s possible. For many have already done it in Duo, Yes, it’s true.
Not all Trainers do Raids with a big group. Some may belong to a small group, haven’t hooked up with an existing community, or just prefer to do it with friends or a partner.
Working, time constraints, having different schedules or availability, some trainers may not be able to join Raids with a big group often and can maybe do it with a partner only.
And there maybe some trainers out there who may feel that doing it with a big group size is somewhat overkill, trainers who are looking or eager for a more challenging scenario.
These are the select trainers who may have that Perfect Pokémon Team and just love to duo it. Still, some trainers who Duo, up the challenge by seeing how fast they can “Dou it.”
“Against the odds!”
It might not come as quite a shock, many trainers around the world have done this. Higher Tiers four and five have been Duo Raid with success… “Duo-ed it!”
Duo-ing it can be challenging but if both trainers have the absolute best, a Perfect Pokémon Team with maximum IVs and the best Move sets, “it can be easy as pie.”
No question about it! A Perfect Pokémon Team, it can be done! But here is another question… “Can it be done duo-ing it with just ‘Average Pokémon Joe’s’ at hand?”
That is, both trainers only using a team of Good to Excellent IV Pokémon’s, and maybe just throw in one Perfect IV Pokémon in the team, if one is all that one’s got then.
So, despite very low probability and in a most unlikely way, some who duo this can still manage a win. Duoing it versus a powerful boss here’s like against the odds we can say.
“Iligan’s Pioneering Duo”
Iligan City is dubbed the “City of Waterfalls” and we do have a bunch of Pokémon Trainers and a Community here, and “we duo have two who’d like to duo it too.”
So two trainers there was, DocZokemon and YuriMik2007 that is, Iligan’s Pioneering Duo. Well, it all just started out as an idea, a call to arms in the spur of the moment.
A call and test to see what all this Pokémon training is for, to see what two can really duo. Our Pioneering Iligan Duo Team then set out to accomplish a set goal and mission.
With “Average Pokémon Joe’s,” our Pioneering Iligan Duo Team set out to fulfill that ultimate duo mission and goal-to be able to successfully duo raid tiers four or five bosses.
So making use of what they had, they tried and see if they, like the rest of the world of PoGo who duo-ed it with regulars, can dou it too. Okay, okay, we’ll see what did they duo.
“We can Duo it too!”
Raiding with a big group size is good, it really saves one a lot of potions and scanty revives. But if these items are no object, two can really try and see what they can duo.
Doing Duo Raids of tiers four and five presents a different kind of challenge and difficulty. And using average Pokémon Joe’s in the process tends to up the challenge.
But it can also be a good time to showcase an opportunity to see how one’s Pokémon training, and of how average Pokémon Joe’s fare, a good test to see how far they can go.
Through the course of it all, our Pioneering Iligan Duo Team managed to pull through again and again. Successfully prevailing over varying tiers four and then tier five Raids.
DocZokemon & Yurimik2007 All-Time DUO Raid
You can’t win them all. But each time you do, it is pretty intense, it’s such a tremendous moment! A great sense of fulfillment, a sweet victory one can’t forget, and cherish.
“Yes, you can Duo-it!”
The question in Dou-ing it with average Pokémon Joe’s, that is, using a team of average to excellent and no perfect IV’s or maxxed out CP’s, or maybe just using just one or two is…
It’s not how fast you can beat it but rather is… Can you beat it? “Two can Duo it all right, and Yes, Iligan can, We can Duo it too!” So, have you considered duo-ing it too?
Dou-ing it with an absolute perfect team maybe a guarantee but you’ll never know and be surprised what your average Pokémon Joe’s are also capable of dou-ing too.
Let’s make use of what we’re training our Pokémon’s for. If you feel you’re up to the challenge now, find a partner, team-up, and try duo-ing it too some times, it’s really fun!
Iligan Pokemon GO Community
Yet, one should always keep in mind. This game of Pokémon GO is not just worthwhile as it makes us get out and GO but all things considered, it is just half of it.

This game is still here to stay! Our Iligan City Pokémon GO Community here has only grown stronger than ever thru the years! We’re still here! Poké On!
With Legendary Pokemon field tasks rewards and Pokemon Trading now rolling, Pokemon GO, the mobile game, is picking up pace again.
But there’s nothing like Niantic’s short-window events that get Trainers all around out and about and excited to catch some Pokemons specially them Legendaries.
With a chance to encounter and catch their shiny form, Trainers, like the ones from the Pokemon GO Iligan Community were very enthusiastic and eager again.
As featured Legendaries appear, with unique and exclusive move offered plus bonuses in a limited time event, trainers again played together in numbers.
Throughout each of its duration, Trainers were chillaxing on the streets with the advent of Articuno, electrified with Zapdos, and lately getting fired up with Moltres.
The Pokemon GO Iligan Community had been growing in numbers since the Gen3 release and the Legendary set time events, becoming an even bigger community now.
“Legendary Hours”
As Legendary Pokemon become available in Raid Battles for a three-hour period only, this sometimes pose a challenge for Trainers going out in the field.
No matter what the group size, one of the major challenges is the time and speed that teams can manage, specially if a group is looking to do as many raids.

For a bigger team, a bigger group of twenty to forty people walking, commuting, going around on an established route around the Gyms in the city.
Another challenge is, is spending time coordinating one gym raid, plus the time spent in going to the next gym all together for the next one.
For the more people, there’s a bigger chance of some trainer’s game freezing, and this may take a lot of resetting the lobby, and may waste a lot of time.

The bigger the group, the more time is spent in doing. And catching every single one, allotting for multi-accounts would mean additional rounds of battle.
A bigger group maybe much slower to raid with but the clear advantage is the time shaved off during raids. And the fun? It’s much more when shared with a bigger group.

“All in 1, or 2”
If a group is looking to do 30 or more raids within the limited-time window, “a casual group of 4 to 5 persons” maybe one manageable raid party.
Moltres Trio Raid
4 man group Moltres Raid
A small group going by car or a convoy of two, as one or two separate raid team each, with each car having 5 to 6 accounts may have better management of time and speed.
5 man group Moltres Raid
A small crew is easy enough to coordinate. And if the driver ain’t playing, the crew can already be heading out and on their way to next gym once the battle commences.
6 man group Moltres Raid
“Let’s Duo it!”
Doing raid battles with just one friend, that is, a partner and buddy, if both are already at Level 39-40, and to just duo them all, if or when possible… is much faster.
2 man Moltres Raid
However, the disadvantage here is the time shaved in raid battles, the potions and revives spent, specially if one or both are running low from the start.
A bigger group can shave more than half the time off as to the duration smaller groups take in each raid, and can do many more raids over the given period of time.
“One Team! One PoGo!”
Whatever the size of group one is in, be it a Duo, a small group or a big one, each all have their own challenges, advantages and disadvantages.
What remains is, in the end, is that all have gone out to fulfill Niantic’s worldwide goal of going out and playing together again as one Global PoGo Team.
“One Team! One PoGo!” as Iligan Community Pokemon GO Trainer Dennis states it.
“On different fronts”
In Metro Manila, Master Pokemon GO Trainer YellowTachikoma, with an 11-man crew were there to hustle, going in two cars as one raid team.
On their planned route, they opted to do 35 raids during Moltres hours. But they only managed to do 28 raids because they got hold up in traffic in Makati City.
They had plans to finish up at Bonifacio Global City but didn’t push thru anymore. YellowTachikoma said, if not for the traffic jam they would’ve made it.

Despite not being able to reach their planned destination and desired number of raids, YellowTachikoma said, it was worth it, as all of them were able to catch a Shiny Moltres.
Cagayan de Oro City’s Master Pokemon GO Trainer Attorney Ramon Dañar Legaspi also managed to bring in a haul of Shiny Moltres, being able to capture a Shiny CP 1799 as well.
Iligan City Pokemon GO Community saw two groups in actions, one big group on foot and another small group going by car.
According to Trainer Dennis, who was with the bigger group, they managed to do 11 Gym Raids, with two rounds of battle each to accommodate multi-accounts.
All trainers were able to catch Moltres’s Shiny form in their master accounts, as well as catching shiny ones in their respective alter accounts, Trainer Dennis said.
“iterative process”
As for the smaller group going by Car, action kicked off with a Trio raid getting down. And as the team now had 6 accounts at hand, the raid was on.
Trainer 3EWolf, who caught a Shiny Zapdos before, and a Perfect IV Articuno and a sole Shiny for his alter account during their time kept jesting as the raid went on.
4 accounts Moltres Raid
5 accounts Moltres Raid
6 accounts Moltres Raid
After having faced and caught a Perfect IV Moltres, Trainer 3EWolf jokingly predicted that this might be a repeat of events, said this might be an “iterative process.”
Who would’ve thought Trainer 3EWolf’s predictions would come true, as the next Moltres was indeed a Shiny one, but it all doesn’t end there.

Sir 3EWolf’s haul continued (Screen shot via Sir 3EWolf)
The third one after the Perfect IV, was again Shiny, then a not so Shiny, then a Shiny, three more non Shiny’s after then again another Shiny as the second to the last catch.
Trainer 3EWolf’s alter account wrapped it up with a non shiny caught in a last Trio raid with Doc Jun, who already caught three Shiny Moltres. 3EWolf’s main had one too.
Trainers DocZokemn and Yurimik who also caught Shiny Moltres already, decided on going Duo for the last Moltres of the hours and managed to make a win.
Moltres Duo Raid

Legendary Pokemon GO Trainer DocZokemn’s line up (Screen shot Courtesy of LPGT DocZokemn)
The small group in a car only managed to do 15 Moltres raids, only had one Gym raid with two rounds, but everybody got to catch a Shiny.
By far Moltres Hours gave out the most number of Shiny forms compared to Articuno and Zapdos… “so true,” Atty Ramon Legaspi of Team CDO concurred.
“Nerfed”
Moltres Hours featured a weakened Moltres, with reduced stats, it was like going up against a T4 Moltres.
Even with neutral weather, friendship bonus on hand, the Moltres during the limited window time was more or less easily extinguised by a big group, was Trioed and Duoed.
But if weather and friendship is not a thing, with stats remain unchanged and Legendaries be nothing but challenging, less trainers would be spending coins on passes.
Guess, it’s one sleek design to get as many players back as easy as possible, spending coins on passes and maybe a splurging, but for avid players, it was still fun raiding.
The vast expanse of interstellar space that continues to the edges of one galaxy; that is, the Intergalactic Space that makes up most of the observable Universe. As astronomers say, is not totally devoid of matter.
In another kind of universe in some respects, like within the GO Universe in itself that extends to the corners of one Galaxy that is, in Android devices or in iOS devices. GO players find it to be not almost entirely empty too.
And yet, between actuality or augmented reality these two different kinds of universes in similar facets… there always exists beauty and the presence of that ever challenging environment in both.
Astronomy dates back to antiquity whilst ludology’s barely half a century. And of what lies beyond Space? We’ll just leave that to Astronomy and Astronomers speculation.
Running two years now on the other hand, of Pokemon GO the augmented reality game? Well, guess die-hard players can only wait and GO on.
The world of games may have become a better place since Pokemon GO came out. To this end, we’ll be dwelling more on the mobile game and the social experience that our little community has to share.
In addition, we are throwing in that itsy-bitsy connection between the games events and some feature films along with a dash of that little review at the end of each.
Big Screen Narration
Avengers: Infinity War
GO’s been around for almost two years now, still a number of players are still active, some may have come and go but some have returned to the game.
Our community here maybe little but still it has persisted and the groups and their respective members are still living up to their own team’s philosophy.
Of the factions here, Mystic has always been the most popular, Valor is the most competitive and Instinct has always been the underdog.
Team Valor’s always in pursuit of true strength and may have trained the strongest Pokemon in battle but their numbers here are dwindling and are now but a handful.
Instinct may still be the least popular choice for a team but as relying on faith and trust, their numbers are steadily growing, catching up to Mystic and that’s the hidden truth.
Mystic’s approach is of wisdom and calmness: calmly dominating most gyms here. But not if rivals Instinct and Valor can help it, and challenge Mystic controlled gyms daily.
retrospectare
There’s plenty of stiff competition here among opposing factions. And the battle for gym control here, is like in Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War’s fashion.
So our Instinct Avengers, Valor Guardians of the Galaxy, and Mystic Order sometimes take on each other, or Cull Lugia; Ebony Mew, Latias Glaive; and Proxima Mewtwo.
In an eight-gym clusters arena, Mystic is always quick in conquering and defending most gyms in the area and not letting up easily. And nighttime attacks by rivals are sporadic.
One evening, Instinct, in a hastily organized attack, launched a major offensive. Two hours of coordinated gym assault culminated in the victory for the gym challengers.
Mystic defended but with Instinct’s numbers, simultaneous strike in several gyms, amid the confusion, Instinct was successful in bringing down a number of Mystic gym towers.
The timely planned strike; amidst the skirmishes, was all loaded with fun and excitement. It was indeed a night filled with a whole lot of satisfying gym battle action.
It was a night to remember! It probably went down in this City’s GO history as one of the most successful synchronized attack by a team, perhaps one of the greatest gym battle.
And like Marvel’s Thanos raising his left hand to the sky. “Thanos’ gloved hand snaps. A ‘red’ flash.” In the midst of the rivalries… half of life in the GO Universe disappeared.
About the film… “Nailed it! An epic blockbuster. And waiting for the sequel to come out is also ‘epic.'”
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
The new Pokemon GO 8 bit graphics was a little April Fool’s surprise and the Research Quest update led trainers to partake on such an unexpected journey.
“Brand-New Graphics! Registering approximately twice the amount of definition of 4K… provide realistic detail and unbelievable definition” as Niantic’s post say.
But experiencing cutting-edge graphics for a week, for some, was like in the company of Thorin Oakenshield and just wondering when that Orc pack would get off their tail.
The new quest and its string of tasks proved quite taxing, as if not challenging enough, local factions were at it again, taking on each other and see who completes first.
The rewards for field and special research tasks keeps getting better and better as trainers unlock more, eventually leading to that Mythical Discovery and Mew encounter.
But what was the catch again for being the first to complete the tasks and catch Mew? The lucky trainer answers to Pizza galore for community members of all factions 😀
About the feature… “Novel and film of epic proportion. Must have two buckets of theater popcorn…”
Bright
So here comes another Dragon-type raid boss in the form of Latias. Well it’s not much than Latios so they say but Pokedex wise, might as well have it than let it pass.
Under new sprite and some hints of that shiny one, trainers here kept on raiding and hoping. But unlike Lugia giving out shiny and perfect IV’s on the first day and so forth.
Latias dragged on, making trainers think, will there ever be? Well, well, it wasn’t until its gym stay almost came to a close that one so lucky caught a Perfect IV, it was Ms. Jade.
Now catching the one is like striking gold, and as for being the only trainer to catch it here, it was like that ancient Chinese proverb “Gold has a price, but Jade is priceless.”
As for this Netflix… “A very underrated sci-fi mashup, but a fantastic ‘fantasy’ film.”
The Hitman’s Bodyguard
As Fighting-type Pokemon starred in Pokemon GO’s Special Battle showdown came, it was a time to test out trainers Pokemon in this special battle event with 2x bonus XP.
Taking on Machamp alone before was fun but who would have thought that soloing Machamp and other fighting-types this time around was like a mere walk in the park.
Machamp seemed so heavy now and like “La Cucaracha,” with Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan and Breloom as thy bodyguard, against some trainers going solo, they usually prevailed.
And like the movie, with the Hitman and his bodyguard working together as they fight along the way, it was much easier for two trainers to battle the stars of this special event.
As for the motion picture… “Contrived, Over the top yet hilariously enjoyable.”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2
Nothing beats Pokemon GO’s community day every time it comes out, it’s like painting your Pokedex palette with a range of colors that’s shiny or of natural, earthy colors.
What adds excitement to such events that usually last for three hours only, is the chance for those Pokemon caught and evolved during the span of time to learn a special move.
And special moves learned were Ampharos, with Dragon Pulse; Charizard, with Blast Burn; Dragonite, with Draco Meteor; Bulbasaur, with Frenzy Plant; Pikachu, with Surf.
Compared to the Dratini community day event, the spawn rate for shiny pokemons in the other Community Days were a bit low, with only a few trainers catching one or two.
Still, Community Days are pretty exciting for what more can evoke feelings of happiness, energy and increase a trainer’s appetite for the game than adding a little color, eh?
The feature film… “Charming iridescent play on colors, and salience of emotional prosody of the characters leaves ‘some unspoken thing’ conveyed. Still humor-laden, action-packed sequel… dazzling eye candy with degrees of tonality, festive, …multi-colored.”
“‘Devastating power that can blow apart regular houses’ as its defining characteristic.”
It’s from no storm nor a Tornado, it’s no other than the Legendary Pokemon Lugia!“
And that’s tremendous power all just coming from “a light fluttering of Lugia’s wings.”
Guess, if soft targets were getting a full blast of it… it maybe just like a Nuclear blast shock wave one could say.
“‘Choosing to live out of sight deep under the sea…’ Lugia is back now!”
This powerful Psychic Pokemon has returned to Raid Battles in Pokemon GO ’til April 2.
Maka Lugia – “Maka Luya” (Exhausting)
One of them Legendary Bird Pokemon, aside from the trio Zapdos, Articuno and Moltres, Lugia spread its wings and soared back to Raid Battles in Pokemon GO last March 16.
This mighty Pokemon really packs a punch so powerful indeed that when news of Lugia’s return broke out, it really caused a ruckus among Pokemon GO Trainers around.
The hype and excitement really got a number of trainers in several PoGO communities about, to sit up all night, become sleepless, edgy and jumpy waiting.
Like a game changing situation, the revelation had a profound effect that even caused some trainers to leap out of bed early morning by the mere mentioning of “Lugia!”
For one, setting the alarm clock one hour before actually waking, one’s internal clock goes haywire and ends up waking up a full hour before the alarm goes off, Oh Lugia!
“…waiting on Lugia.”
The first Black Egg in the wee hours of the morning appeared in a gym located on top of a hill, finally, the long wait was over as Lugia hatched out of the egg.
Caught off guard, a small group of trainers gathered quickly for the first salvo with only but five minutes left on the boss clock’s time, the raid battle was on!
And so the first eight got a taste of Lugia’s prowess, good thing this ensemble of raiders were able to manage a win, however, only one was lucky to catch Lugia.
Next one up was at the City’s Public Plaza and a number of other trainers had already gathered there waiting for the first batch of early raiders to arrive.
“Perfect Lugia”
As the second Lugia raid ended and the bonus challenge was up, trainers again were very excited but not as much as Iligan Trainer Sir Ruel Barbers.
Confronted with a CP 2056 Lugia, it was really something. A sudden call out of it drew much attention from other excited trainers around.
However, catching that Perfect Lugia with a good number of balls at hand was no mere walk in the park… sadly it flew away from his hands.
What more could bring a trainer so low than failing to catch that Perfect Lugia, the “one” that got away….Well, chances are quite slim to meet another one.
“Shiny Lugia”
Nice thing about Iligan trainers is that they are not only united in the games raid but they also help comfort each other in times of trouble.
Acceptance may be hard to come by but let’s cheer up, it’s just the first day since Lugia showed up and who knows what lies up ahead.
So the next Lugia appearance and another assembly of raiders, including Sir Barbers was up as Lugia again appeared in another gym.
Like having the gift of foresight, Sir Barbers best friend and fellow trainer Sir Lorenz Flores jokingly said to him that his next might be a Shiny, coincidentally, it was!
“100 IV”
And so Sir Barbers and another one proved successful in catching the first two Shiny Lugias in this City of Waterfalls that both came out in the bonus challenge.
Shiny Lugia! What a big surprise! Who knew? Well, lucky for those who did catch that Shiny Lugia, it’s no 100 IV Lugia but it will do, that will do, Yahoo!
As what Sir Lorenz Flores predicted, it did came true, a Shiny Lugia for Sir Barbers, to delete the blues away, from missing out to catch the first Perfect one.
And to top it all, a late afternoon raid again with Sir Barbers… another 100 IV for him! Oh man! Is this possible? Yes indeed! But sadly, it “fleded” again!
“Raid On!”
We’re quite in the middle of this event now, and Trainers all around are still continuing to do raid battles in the hopes of catching that Perfect Shiny Lugia.
It’s not over yet and not a day goes by that trainers are there to do raid battles. No promo boxes in the in game shop, we’re running low on raid passes now.
But it doesn’t stop us hard-core Pokemon GO Trainers from raiding, the next one could be that Shiny Perfect Lugia for all we know.
So, for the love of the game, the chance to catch one mighty Legendary Pokemon, a Perfect Shiny maybe, to fill up one’s Pokedex, for the fun of it, Raid On!
“Maka Lugia” Niantic but Thank you!
“So you’re thinking you can take on Lugia alone? There’s no harm in trying 🙂 .”
It’s not the name for Gyarados Tera Evolution. Rather just a newly coined word of what the series of the games events had been, “Pokemon ‘GO-arduous.'”
It was all quite challenging indeed but all was not without the fun factor and excitement.
The Gen 3 Hoenn Pokemons release, Legendary Pokemon Rayquaza’s appearance, Pokemon GO Second Community Day.
Legendary Pokemon Kyogre and Groudon’s return alongside Rayquaza, Feb 26 Miguel Sheker Park Welcome Arch Mewtwo Ex Raid.
Were we excited? Oh yes! We love the game and really love playing it.

Iligan City PoGO Trainers
Since the Legendary Pokemon Rayquaza appeared in Raid Battles, Iligan Trainers were very excited to gather together to battle the new Tier 5 Raid Boss.
Braving the elements just to get a chance to battle and catch the new legendary raid boss, Iligan Pokemon GO Trainers endured both rain and sunshine.
Enduring the burning midday sun on the first day, braving the rain and cold on the second day and forth, Trainers assembled and battled.
Going out to play outside for a while despite the weather, trainers were eager to have that new Legendary Pokemon registered to their PokeDex.
Team Buntagay Cagayan de Oro PoGO Trainers
Team Buntagay CDO Trainers on the other hand had all the more reason to do battle and catch as many Legendary Pokemon Rayquaza as they can.

Perfect IV Rayquaza CP 2083 Iligan
A call to a T5 Legendary Pokemon Rayquaza raid at the Sani Fountain Pokemon Gym by Iligan’s Master Pokemon GO Trainer Earl Kenny was answered by many.
Jokingly saying that this might be giving out a Perfect IV Pokemon, after two rounds of battle, coincidentally Master PoGO Trainer Earl Kenny’s prediction came true.
The two battle’s bonus challenges resulted with PoGO Trainers Sir Joshua Barangot and Doc Jun facing a CP 2083 of which only the former was able to catch the boss.
Another Iligan Master Pokemon GO Trainer, Sir 3EWolf who joined one Rayquaza raid in another gym few days earlier was able to catch the boss in the bonus challenge.
He was quite busy with his job that time and was only able to check the IV later. Well, he was quite surprised to see that he already caught a Perfect IV Legendary, his first.
Pokemon GO Second Community Day
The much awaited PoGO Community Day kicked off on time and with only a short window of time, i.e. three hours, trainers were already out.
Like a sudden flash flood of Dratini’s, Pokestop’s and certain spots all around were overrun by Dratini spawns. The spawn rate was like a “Majestic marvel! Dratini’s of Epic PoGO Proportions!”
A number of trainers were already catching several shiny Dratini’s ten minutes into the event. Sir Earl Kenny for one, already caught four shinies while another caught a shiny Dratini as a second catch.
PoGO Trainer neeeeko, who just created a new account for his girlfriend in the middle of the event was able to catch three Daritinis in succession all spawning at the same time at one Pokestop that all turned out shiny.
But as the brief moment passed by it was laden with outages then turning into one GO-arduous journey. But thankfully, the issue was quickly addressed by Pokemon GO Niantic, Inc. and a three hour extension was given.
Big Success
By far, what made Pokemon GO’s Second Community Day event deemed the most successful was the introduction of the shiny Dratini (Pink) that can be evolved into a shiny Dragonite (Green).
With only Dratini’s (shiny or not so shiny) evolved during the Community Day’s window time period can learn a special move “Draco Meteor,” it really made the event awesome and like an “Amazing race.”
As this breathtaking event drew out trainers about, trying to catch as many Dratini’s around, something wonderful happened again along the way… another Pokemon GO Trainer found, Sir Boyet! Such event was indeed momentous.
Raid, Raid, Raid!
Few days earlier, thru the efforts of PoGO Master Trainer Sir 3EWolf, a Level 17 Pokemon GO Trainer Doctor Janhart Polizon Manubagwas able to join in a T5 Raid, her very first gym battle. She was able to catch the boss thereafter… Truly impressive!
Sir Boyet and Mam Bogging finally gets to meet Doc Zoke during a Groudon Raid.

Rayquaza came out in one gym within the events time period but a call to raid was only answered by a handful for most of the trainers that time were all so busy “farming” for Dratinis and thy candies.

Sir Boyet and Sir 3EWolf catching the Raid Boss
For a Level 34 account, Pokemon GO Trainers Sir Boyet and wife Mam Bogging, was yet to catch their first ever Legendary Pokemon. The following day after the event, they were out joining other trainers for some Tier 5 Raids.
Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza… PoGO Trainers Sir Boyet and Mam Bogging were doing raids with the group now. After five attempts, they eventually caught their first Legendary Pokemon at a Sheker Park raid, Congratulations!
Monumental
Feb 26, 6:00 PM Mewtwo Ex Raid at Miguel Sheker Park, first time yours got late but anyways, after having split the raiders into two groups for two rounds, it was on!
And every time the battle was over and came the bonus challenge, there was always this short silence and stillness as trainers were focused on catching Mewtwo.
And it was always followed by a number of successive shouts for joy, as a number of trainers rejoiced the happy outcome of finally catching their first Mewtwo.
It was an early evening filled with excitement, delight and good spirits for there’s nothing like catching that “one” only from an Exclusive Raid invitation.
BRB! (Basta Raid Bira!)
Mew-numental! PoGO-tastic! PoGO-rrific! GO-arduous! Challenging! This was all fun and exhilarating!
Yes, we really love playing this game and can’t wait for more exciting Raids and Events in the future… (sooner the better 🙂 ).
Cheers to all trainers around for their magnificent efforts, the sweat, muscle soreness that came with this in trying to set out to finish what we all started.
“Gotta catch ’em all!”
Special Thanks to Team Buntagay CDO’s LegendaryPokemon Trainers Sir John Anwar Illagan and Sir Patrick James Monterola Tutor…
February 11th, a large number of people have already gathered around the Miguel Sheker Park Welcome Arch as the time draws near.
Like getting front row tickets to the biggest ever Ex Raid battle the City has seen so far, the wondrous assemblage of trainers was quite a sight.
In what seemed to be the greatest come back and assembly of Pokemon GO Trainers in Iligan City in the history of the game, it was truly remarkable.
Clusters of players positioned themselves around the park’s Pokemon GO Gym ready to battle Mewtwo that was scheduled to appear at 5:00 PM.
Buak-Sulod (Break-In)
A Pokemon GO Ex Raid duration only lasts about forty-five minutes and a Pokemon GO Gym lobby can only accommodate 20 players per battle.
So as the black egg containing Mewtwo was only seconds away from hatching, scores of trainers were already staring intently at their phones.
Scrambling for slots sometimes gets intense with the number of trainers around as no one would want to get left behind during Ex Raids.
But thanks to our united community’s coordinated efforts and great teamwork, trainers divided themselves into groups of raiding parties and attacked on schedule.
Bug (Bakokang)
According to several post from the web, Ex Raid invites received last February 7th and scheduled last February 11th was all because of a bug.
The games developer Niantic, said in a blog post that “implementing a few changes to the Ex Raid system also introduced a bug,” as a result-massive invites.
About the Miguel Sheker Park Welcome Arch Pokemon Gym, some trainers here reported getting invites for completing raids done more than a month ago.
Bug or no bug, Trainers here are glad to know that Niantic is continuing its efforts to better the system… and hopefully bring out more players here again like before.

Bug or no Bug, Thank you Niantic, Inc! Thank you Iligan Pokemon GO Trainers!
Now oxforddictionaries(dot)com defines Pokemon as “a series of Japanese video games and related media, trading cards, television programs, featuring cartoon mons.”
In en(dot)wikipedia(dot)org Pokemon GO “is a free-to-play, location based augmented reality game developed by Niantic for iOS and Android devices.”
Almost two years now since the game came out and taking the long road of Pokemon GO, currently at Generation 3 now, it’s really been a journey.
Numerous trainers have stopped playing along the way, felt like a dying game once but nowadays a number of trainers have resurfaced as well as new ones.
There may still be no go for some yet to this date of those who haven’t known, tried or ever played the game before… give it a go then?
It is a free-to-play game after all and that is Pokemon GO! Well, today lots of players or Pokemon GO Trainers out there are still hooked in this one of a kind game.
Catching Pokemon is not just all about living that motto “Gotta catch ’em all” but that road trip embarked by trainers sometimes lead to something else.
Something more than starting the ball rolling but it has brought about the likes of self-discovery, friendship and building communities.
Pokemon GO Communities or PoGO Communities have come to light, as more and more trainers have united in the name and love for the game.
One thing wonderful about PoGO communities here and there is that now and then neighboring communities (Team Buntagay CDO and Team Rocket Iligan) band together.
Kilometers apart but when it comes to the game are close to heart. Communication between these two communities say’s a lot about their relationship-wholesome.
Each of these communities have their own share of turmoils ago for as communities rise, sometimes they divide, battles sometimes literally spills out of the game.
Must we say light and dark compliment each other well sometimes, with time, making amends, it leads to balance, there’s peace again and communities re-unite.
One thing about wars is that there are good wars fought sometimes, Pokemon Trainers picture wars in Team Buntagay CDO’s group chat brought on something new.
New concept and trendsetting courtesy of Team Buntagay CDO’s Master Pokemon GO Trainer Chris Carbonilla Chan, The #takipbibigpost.
Getting kind’a catchy and stylish, it didn’t take long for this new trend setting from TB CDO’s Community to reach thy neighboring Team Rocket Iligan’s PoGO Community.
One cool thing about PoGO communities is that not only one does find fun, friendship, connection or a one big happy family, but also there are some nice stories.
